Atanas Gerchev

Born: September 2, 1962 in Plovdiv

European runner-up from the German city of Rostock in 1982 and two-time winner of the "Liberation" tournament in the category up to 60 kg.

Bronze medalist from the Druzhba tournament in 1984, who replaced the Olympic Games because of the boycott of the socialist camp.

He won the US Open in Colorado Springs in 1988.

Since 2008 he has been the head coach of the national cadet team, and since 2014 he has been the selector of our men's representative team.
